Bing.com Says PPC Clicks Are Up 13%, Are You Capitalizing?
Hey! It looks like you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!
I read yesterday that since the MSN search platform switched from Live.com to Bing.com two weeks ago, Microsoft has noticed a 13% jump in PPC clicks. I’m sure some of that is certainly click fraud, as new, inexperienced affiliates are heading over to Bing.com to see what others have already posted there for them to copy — I’ve noticed some of it on one of my bigger niche campaigns already — and a LOT of it is undoubtedly curiosity, as people head over to check out Bing and see what its all about (after seeing one of their many TV commercials, perhaps). But still in this business, a 13% increase is certainly something to be excited about, especially since MSN has traditionally been (arguably) the highest converting but lowest traffic PPC source in the “big 3″ (Google, Yahoo & MSN).
Efficient Frontier Inc, which calls itself the world’s largest search engine marketer says that the number of clicks on ads served by Microsoft Bing.com search engine jumped 13% in the two weeks since it was switched from Live.com.
“Those gains are significant in terms of revenue,” said Justin Merickel, marketing vice president at Efficient Frontier, which places about $750 million in text ads on top search engines worldwide.
With the U.S. search ad market valued at $12 billion this year, each additional point in paid-click share Microsoft gains would be worth $120 million in annual revenue.
So, that being said, are you testing your campaigns on Bing.com? If not, don’t you think it’s time to give it a shot? Sounds to me like Bing could be liquid gold!
