May Income Report
Well, Although we had some income this month there still isn’t a profit to report. But I’m still very happy with the way the month went, all the same. And I think to expect a profit in our first month of affiliate marketing would be pretty unrealistic. Most importantly, I do think that we set ourselves up very nicely to be profitable in the future. To say that we learned a lot would be an understatement! Anyway, here’s the breakdown:
Spent:
Google AdWords: $410.82
Facebook Advertising: $25.31
Misc (domain registration, JetSpinner, etc.): $47
Total: $483.13
Earnings:
Affiliate earnings: $262.47
Good AdSense: $18.80
Kontera: $1.15
Total: $282.42
Which results in a net loss of $200.17. Not great obviously, but as one of our first affiliate managers told us – “in order to be successful at affiliate marketing, you have to be prepared to fair often but fail forward. It’s not a ‘get rich quick’ scheme, despite what you may have read, but if you can stick it out and learn from your losses, you’ll be golden”; and that’s just what we’re trying to do. And I think we’re doing it well. Check back at the end of June and hopefully you’ll see some profit posted here.
Wish us luck!
