If you find yourself frustrated with your affiliate marketing endeavours, it’s always helpful to set some goals and put everything into perspective. But make sure those goals are obtainable. Think about it like this:

Sure it’d be awesome to make $100k/month, and maybe some day your affiliate marketing work will get you to that point, as it does for some. But setting a goal for a six-figure month at this stage of the game isn’t practical. You’ll only be let down. But maybe a steady $100/day profit is an obtainable goal.

“Only $100/day?!”, you say. “That doesn’t seem like much!” And you’re right, in affiliate marketing $100/day really isn’t much (or doesn’t have to be) but when you break it down, one hundred dollars a day profit will result in a job that pays you $36,500 a year! When you think of it that way, it suddenly sounds like a pretty good chunk of change. In fact, $36k is more than the national average for an entry-level job. And that doesn’t include the fringe benefits associated with affiliate marketing, like working from home, not commuting, being your own boss & setting your own hours - where in the “real world” working world would you find a job like that?!

So next time you find you’re getting down on yourself about your marketing efforts, re-examine your goals - make sure they’re realistic and obtainable. Then go out and earn yourself a $37,000 salary!
